These pups are very different in colour than the last. Their mother carries a deep red coat, which masks the black gene. As a result her pups have quite rich colouring themselves.This litter also reverses the male-female ratio of the previous litter, which was dominated by males. Four of the surviving puppies are females, and the sole male is a tricolour.
